A new mural in Bridlington, Yorkshire commemorates the Battle of Flamborough Head, a significant naval engagement between American and British forces that occurred off the Yorkshire coast on September 23, 1779, during the American Revolutionary War. Artist Sam Porter created the artwork on the Quay Leisure building, depicting the USS Bonhomme Richard and HMS Serapis locked in nighttime combat beneath Bempton Cliffs. The Bridlington Ambassadors commissioned this piece in advance of the battle's 250th anniversary in 2029, hoping to boost local awareness and attract American tourism to the area.
